Charles Barkley never stops giving his opinion on the NBA. It doesn’t even matter if TNT is done broadcasting games — the former player known as “The Round Mound of Rebound” probably has an opinion, and it is usually controversial in some way.
After Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Matthew Dellavedova helped lock up Golden State Warriors superstar and league MVP Stephen Curry in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night, there were many who said that the Australian’s efforts would swing this series. Barkley is not ready to go there.

“People need to slow down giving [Dellavedova] so much credit,” Sir Charles said on Bleacher Report Radio. “Steph Curry will kill that kid in the overall scheme of things. He just didn’t make shots last night.”
I am with Barkley on this topic. The Cavaliers played one heck of a game on Sunday, but they won’t be able to replicate that kind of performance and win again.
First, LeBron James will need to be much more efficient for the Cavs to win three more games. His 11-of-35 shooting performance in Game 2 was definitely not what you would call pristine, although he deserves credit for bringing Cleveland their first NBA Finals victory in franchise history. He also dropped another triple-double. Secondly, Curry won’t shoot that poorly (5-for-23) again from the field, and I’m sure he’s been fuming for the last two days since the national media has been showering attention and praise on Delly.
We’ll see if Dellavedova can pester the MVP once more when Golden State tries their luck in the coming games, but we all now know Barkley doesn’t think that will happen.
