The Portland Trail Blazers lost in the first round of the NBA playoffs after only managing to win one game against the Memphis Grizzlies. But with an important offseason coming up, the Trail Blazers have a lot of work to do. The Trail Blazers are entering the offseason with potentially eight free agents. Here are five of the biggest rumors surrounding the Trail Blazers this June.

With Nicolas Batum struggling for the Trail Blazers this season, the Trail Blazers are beginning to search for a perimeter player who will fit their needs. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was a part of a predraft workout that the Trail Blazers held recently. Hollis-Jefferson has scouts believing that he is the best perimeter defensive prospect in this draft and defense on the perimeter is what the Trail Blazers need.

Wright is entering free agency this offseason after spending his last two years with the Trail Blazers. He averaged only 4.6 points per game after appearing in 48 games this season. Wright could weigh his options and leave to make more money since he just had a new child and he is looking for increased financial security.

Lopez is entering the summer as an unrestricted free agent. He was the defensive anchor that the Trail Blazers needed to put alongside LaMarcus Aldridge. Lopez was also a rim protector who could legitimately play center. Although a new deal isn’t in place, Lopez is almost certain to return if the Trail Blazers can also keep Aldridge.

2. Trail Blazers Will Watch Wesley Matthews' Progress

Wesley Matthews' season ended after his left Achilles tendon was torn, but he is steadily recovering. Matthews said he believes that resigning the Trail Blazers would be the ideal situation. But with an injury as serious as an Achilles injury, the Trail Blazers will cautiously monitor Matthews’ recovery and make the necessary decisions when it comes to deciding whether or not to bring Matthews back.

Many rumors have surrounded Aldridge and his free agency. He could possibly end up with a team in Texas or even with the Cleveland Cavaliers if Kevin Love left the Cavaliers. But the most recent rumor surrounding Aldridge has been about the Boston Celtics' draft pick (16th overall). So far the Blazers haven’t been interested in any type of sign-and-trade with the Celtics.
