Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors – NBA Finals Game 5 (Series tied 2-2)

Game Time, TV: Sunday, June 14th – 8:00 PM ET on ABC

Projected Starting Lineups:

Cleveland Cavaliers: PG: Matthew Dellavedova, SG: Iman Shumpert, SF: LeBron James, PF: Tristan Thompson, C: Timofey Mozgov

Golden State Warriors: PG: Stephen Curry, SG: Klay Thompson, SF: Harrison Barnes, PF: Draymond Green, C: Andrew Bogut

The Golden State Warriors and their offense finally got rolling in Game 4, thanks to a brilliant coaching decision by Steve Kerr on the advice of the youngest assistant coach on the team, Nick U’Ren, to start Andre Iguodala instead of Andrew Bogut. The result was a convincing Warriors victory with the series going back to Oakland for a decisive Game 5.

The Cavaliers once again relied on LeBron James to carry them completely throughout the entire game. Where the Warriors moved the ball and slashed their way to the basket, opening up room for shooters to get open in the process, the Cavaliers offense was once again stagnant, totally reliant on James providing everything for them.

To put it simply, the Cavaliers must have more movement in their offense, and head coach David Blatt must go to veteran players like Mike Miller and Shawn Marion more so he can extend the health of his main guys.

The key match-up for this game will be Stephen Curry vs. Matthew Dellavedova. Dellavedova did a tremendous job in Games 1-3, but in Game 4 Curry finally found his rhythm. If the Cavaliers are to have any shot of winning this game, Dellavedova will have to be amazing again on defense, while also providing a little offense here and there for his team.

Ultimately, the Warriors will come out on top again. They finally have found themselves for the first time in this series, and it could not have come at a better time.

Prediction: Warriors 111, Cavaliers 97
