5 Los Angeles Lakers Who Should Be Shown the Door This Offseason

The Los Angeles Lakers won 21 games last season. Kobe Bryant's injury was a factor in their poor record, but a healthy Bryant wouldn't have carried this team to the postseason. The Lakers have some talent on their roster with Bryant, Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle, but the rest of the team has question marks throughout. Who should the Lakers let go of in the offseason?

5. Jordan Hill

Jordan Hill has a club option for $ 9 million in 2015-16. Hill is a productive player, as he averaged 12 points and 7.9 rebounds; the problem is his cost. Hill might be worth near $ 9 million a year for a contender, but for the Lakers it's better to let him walk in free agency. With Julius Randle being healthy and the possibility of having Karl-Anthony Towns or Jahlil Okafor, there is no point on spending that much money on a bench player.

4. Wesley Johnson

Wesley Johnson has had two seasons to prove that he isn't a bust, and it's safe to say he has failed. In two seasons with the Lakers he hasn't topped 10 points per game and has failed to produce highly in other categories, such as rebounding (3.4 RPG in two seasons). Johnson is a solid defender with athleticism and that's about it. He is an inconsistent shooter as well, which makes it easier to let him go in free agency.

3. Jeremy Lin

Jeremy Lin had a decent season with the Lakers, as he averaged 11.2 points and 4.6 assists. The problem with Lin is that he is too inconsistent offensively and he struggles to defend most of the time. Lin is an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The Lakers are better off letting him go, as Jordan Clarkson looks to be the future for the team after a terrific rookie year.

2. Nick Young

Nick Young signed a four-year, $ 21.5 million contract before the year started. After a good campaign in 2013-14, when Young averaged 17.9 points, it appeared to be a terrific deal. Last season he struggled, averaging just 13.4 points and only shooting 37 percent from the field. Young was making the headlines for his off the court activity instead of on. It's time for the Lakers to find a trade partner for "Swaggy P".

The Lakers were in rebuild mode last season, but they inexplicably signed Carlos Boozer for a little more than $ 3 million a year. At the age of 33 Boozer isn't old, but he is certainly past his prime and is a liability on defense. Boozer put up solid numbers as he averaged 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds, but there is no point in having him around with Randle back.

ESPN's Beadle Wants To Know Why Nick Young Isn't Being Criticized

ESPN's Michelle Beadle raised an interesting question about the D'Angelo Russell/Nick Young drama on Thursday. Beadle pointed out that while everyone seems to be furious with Russell for videotaping Young, seemingly no one has blasted Young for cheating on his girlfriend Iggy Azalea. Beadle's a known feminist and women's rights activist, so it isn't surprising to see her attempt to tackle a tough issue.
