Dwyane Wade Should Finish His Career With the Miami Heat

Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat

So, Dwyane Wade is thinking about taking his talents to Hollywood. That’s all fine and dandy, but for the sake of his legacy, he should finish out his career in South Beach.

The Miami Heat have been great to Wade ever since he came into the NBA in 2003. He is without debate the second best player in franchise history, and he is well loved in South Florida. So why in the world would he give that up to go to a Los Angeles Lakers team that is nowhere close to competing for a championship for at least the foreseeable future?

I just don’t get it, and Heat and Laker fans should question this logic as well.

Wade has also been linked to be interested in taking his talents to the Cleveland Cavaliers to team back up with LeBron James and try to put an end to Cleveland’s title drought. While that situation would make more sense than the Lakers, it would still be mind boggling to think that he would make such a jump to snowy northeast Ohio just to chance his fourth ring.

Here’s the thing; despite what it may look like on the surface, Wade is in a good situation in Miami. With Chris Bosh expected to be back next season and Goran Dragic presumably set to re-up with the Heat, Miami could be back in the thick of things in the East next season.

Add that to the possibility that Pat Riley could bring Kevin Durant to Miami in 2016, and you have a team that will be back near the top of the NBA in no time.

So instead of dreaming about Hollywood or Lake Erie, Wade should take less money and stay right where he is. Because the future is brighter in Miami than he realizes.
