Fixing the Memphis Grizzlies This Offseason in 5 Easy Steps

The Memphis Grizzlies had another successful regular season, but they just haven't been able to go far in the playoffs. Teams that have a high-powered offense have been a bad matchup. But here are five steps the Grizzlies can take in order to fix their team and prepare for a longer run in the playoffs.

5. Develop a Bench

The best scorer off the bench for the Grizzlies has been Vince Carter. When Carter is the best scorer off any bench, that team has a problem. Jeff Green isn’t consistent enough to rely upon, so the Grizzlies should look to upgrade their bench with a scorer.

4. Acquire a Perimeter Scorer

The Grizzlies allowed Andrew Bogut to guard Tony Allen at times and that should have been the first sign that the team needs a perimeter scorer who can start. Monta Ellis and J.R Smith are free agents who can score and the Grizzlies need to go after one of them.

3. Hire a New Head Coach

Dave Joerger was brought in as a coach who had analytics knowledge. Joerger was supposed to use that knowledge and change how the Grizzlies played. The Grizzlies still have yet to make it past the Conference Finals, so the organization needs to make changes.

2. Trade Zach Randolph

Randolph is a tough power forward who can score with his back to basket, can rebound and he sometimes spread the floor. But Randolph is also too slow defensively. The Grizzlies trade Randolph and get a more mobile power forward.

1. Convince Gasol to Sign-and-Trade

Gasol is one of the top centers of the league. He can shoot, pass, and defend at a high level. But his presence couldn't provide the Grizzlies with the spark it needed to get past the Golden State Warriors. The Grizzlies should try to convince Gasol to sign with another team but allow them to get something in return.

Watch Barnes Say He'd Beat Fisher Down In A Fight

TMZ caught up with Matt Barnes to ask him if he'd seen the clip floating around the Internet of him versus Derek Fisher on 'UFC 2'. Not only had Barnes seen the clip, he says that's exactly what would happen in real life and that he doesn't need an Octagon for it to happen. This dude is still seething with anger and it might be best for Fisher to stay far away.

Warriors Get Away With Fouling Stephenson, Keep Record Alive

I don't normally buy into the idea that the NBA is rigged when something shady happens at the end of a game. However, whether they realized they did so or not, the officiating crew of the Golden State Warriors vs. Memphis Grizzlies contest on Saturday night turned its collective head when Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson fouled Lance Stephenson as time expired. Stephenson should have been at the foul line with a chance to win the game. Instead, the Warriors head to San Antonio to take on the Spurs with a chance to continue chasing the single-season win total record.

Matt Barnes Follows John Henson Into Tunnel After Double Ejection

John Henson and Matt Barnes got into it on Thursday evening. After Henson emphatically rejected Barnes, he showcased an outrageous stink face, and Barnes took exception. Both players were ejected, and Barnes subsequently followed Henson down the tunnel to the Bucks' locker room. Henson was seen with a scrape on his face after the game, so it's fair to assume to two weren't discussing their NCAA tournament brackets in the bowels of BMO Harris Bradley Center.
