Larry Nance Jr. was one of the surprise picks of the first round of the NBA Draft on Thursday night. The Los Angeles Lakers selected the former Wyoming star forward with the No. 27 pick. Shortly after Nance Jr. became a Laker, one of his tweets from over three years ago began making waves around the internet.
Nance has since deleted the tweet, but in today’s internet world, we all know nothing can be deleted forever. Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak says the team spoke with Nance Jr. after discovering the tweet.

“I’ve spoken to Larry Nance Jr., and I’m not in a position to really share information, but it is something that (Nance and Bryant) will have to discuss amongst the two of them,” Kupchak said to reports.
“My understanding, it’s something that happened years ago, and in today’s world, things don’t go away, which doesn’t make it any less offensive because it was said three or four years ago,” Kupchak added.
Rookies already have a tough time in the NBA, and Nance Jr. is off to an especially rough start.
