Sir’Dominic Pointer Won’t Make Cleveland Cavaliers’ Roster

The Cleveland Cavaliers were very close to winning the championship this year. LeBron James had stats that demonstrated his greatness, but no one else could follow his lead.

But does that mean the Cavaliers need anything extra? No.

The Cavaliers have their point guards for the future in Kyrie Irving and Matthew Dellavedova. If Irving can get healthy for the next season and Dellavedova can continue to improve, the point guard position isn’t a problem for the Cavaliers. After all, it was Dellavedova who sometimes played hero for the Cavaliers.

The shooting guard position is more in doubt but the Cavaliers are still set there. They have Iman Shumpert as a restricted free agent and J.R. Smith who is an unrestricted free agent. Smith can get hot at any moment and Shumpert is an elite defender. Although these two players didn’t perform consistently in the Finals, they still have a place with the Cavaliers.

So why would the Cavaliers need Sir’Dominic Pointer? Yes, Pointer did average 15.8 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game in his senior year in college. Yes, Pointer can defend and he has energy. But he isn’t doing anything that Shumpert, Dellavedova and Smith aren’t already doing.

Pointer will be draft pick that plays in the Summer League, but at the end of the day he won’t make the Cavaliers’ roster or even play if he does make the roster.

If Pointer plays well in the summer league, the Cavaliers should try to trade him and get the playmaker who they have been trying to get. Maybe then Pointer can be good for something.

LeBron James Makes Nikola Mirotic Look Foolish With Slam

Clearly, Nikola Mirotic had no interest in slowing down a steamrolling LeBron James on this play during Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Chicago Bulls on Saturday night. Perhaps Mirotic felt he was in a no-win situation and decided to back off in order to stay away from committing a foul, but it doesn't look good giving up on a play regardless.

LeBron Appears On A Pizza Commercial In Undercover Fashion

When LeBron James isn't fighting crime out on the basketball court, he is out there fighting crime on pizza commercials. Was the ad a little awkward? Sure. Did it bring some funny value to the table, though? You better believe it.
