5 Potential Trade Destinations for Indiana Pacers Center Roy Hibbert

The Indiana Pacers selected Texas Longhorns big man Myles Turner with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, and now they are looking to deal Roy Hibbert. He has been extremely inconsistent over the past couple of seasons, and Indiana is looking for any value they can get out of him. Hibbert won't be very expensive, and there are five teams in particular that should look to acquire him from the Pacers.

Phoenix is one team that comes to mind when thinking about a potential suitor for Roy Hibbert. They have needed a dominant defensive big man for the past few years, and that is one thing that Hibbert does bring to the table. Unfortunately, he is a very slow big man that wouldn't fit in with the up-tempo offense that they run, which is why they are the last team on this list despite being in major need of a center.

4. Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers have had interest in Roy Hibbert for a long time, and could use some front-court help after likely losing LaMarcus Aldridge in free agency. Robin Lopez could also leave in free agency, and that would leave a hole for them to fill at the center position. Perhaps acquiring Hibbert would patch that hole, and a fresh start could be all Hibbert needs as well.

3. Los Angeles Lakers

Kobe Bryant has one or two more seasons left in his career, and the Los Angeles Lakers are doing everything in their power to put talent around him. They are in major need of a center, and will have a hard time convincing any of the elite big men in free agency to sign with them. Acquiring a guy like Hibbert would improve their defense immediately, and he wouldn't be asked to play a large offensive role either.

2. Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are in full rebuild mode, and acquiring Roy Hibbert would help them out in two ways. First of all, he is a .5 million expiring contract for them that they could use next offseason. He would also give them a way to unload either Kenneth Faried or Ty Lawson in a trade, but that would all be up to both teams finding pieces they want in return.

Roy Hibbert's best fit would be the Boston Celtics, who were in major need of a rim protector last season. They surprised the entire NBA by making the playoffs even though they weren't given a chance throughout the majority of the season. Adding Hibbert would give them the defender they need, and would also given them .5 million to spend next offseason.

A video posted by NBA (@nba) on

Russell Westbrook is probably the most violent dunker in the NBA, but after watching Indiana Pacers forward Myles Turner on this play, he's not far behind. I know it's cliche, but it literally looks like he's mad at the rim given the ferocity he attacked it with.
