The Los Angeles Clippers just got that much better, and Paul Pierce will get to contend for a title once again.

Pierce’s three-year deal with Clippers will earn him nearly $10M, league source tells Yahoo Sports.

Of course, a bigger signing for the Clippers would be getting back DeAndre Jordan, but who knows how that one will play out. At the very least, Pierce provides a veteran presence and plenty of experience — two crucial things in any sport. Two more things: The Truth had quite the outing in the playoffs this past season, and he will also join forces with Doc Rivers again.

It remains to be seen if Pierce is the piece that the Clippers need to get them over the hump. My best guess is a no, but the season is a long time from now and Los Angeles could still make other splashes during free agency.

At the very least, a team that consists of Paul Pierce, Chris Paul, J.J. Redick, Blake Griffin and others will compete for a title. The trick has been getting to the NBA Finals.

Nonetheless, this was a smart move for both sides. And who’s not excited for yet another Paul Pierce postseason run?
