DeAndre Jordan is one of the top remaining free agents on the market and folks around the NBA are highly anticipating the announcement of where the big man will sign. If Jordan wants to end up in a situation where he can be most productive, he better re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.

When breaking down the list of teams that are interested in Jordan’s services, outside of the Clippers, there’s a problem with each one. Let’s start with the Dallas Mavericks, who appear to be the Clippers’ stiffest competition in the Jordan race. For starters, Dallas cannot offer Jordan as much money as the Clippers.

In addition, the Mavericks are lacking a solid option at point guard. Jordan has thrived offensively throughout his tenure in Los Angeles mainly because of Chris Paul, who is able to create favorable opportunities for his big man.

The same could be said for the New York Knicks. The Knicks also do not have a capable player running the show, so that should automatically eliminate them from contention. Furthermore, New York isn’t even remotely close to being a playoff contender.

That brings us to the Los Angeles LakersUnlike the Mavericks and Knicks, the Lakers do have a talented point guard, after drafting D’Angelo Russell with the second overall pick in draft. He and Kobe Bryant should form a dynamic duo in the backcourt, but outside of those two, there isn’t much else on the roster. Jordan would obviously make them better, but even with him in the lineup, there is no guarantee that the Lakers will make the playoffs.

The Clippers were the best option for Jordan once the season came to a close and it only confirmed it more after they signed Paul Pierce yesterday. Throw Jordan back into the fold and the Clippers are instant title contenders. This should be a no-brainer.
