The franchise has a ton of questions to answer concerning the roster, and with the ever-changing West, the Clippers will need to retool in a major way in order to regain title contender status. Here are five players they need to get rid of. 5. Glen Davis Kirby Lee- USA Today Sports 5. Glen Davis Kirby Lee- USA Today Sports Head coach Doc Rivers has been a fan of Glen Davis for years, dating back to coaching him in Boston. Unfortunately, with the loss of DeAndre Jordan, the Clippers need a much more reliable and athletic frontcourt presence. Davis only averaged 4.0 points and 2.3 rebounds on 44 percent shooting from the field this past season, and he proved to be a major defensive liability on the floor. 4. Hedo Turkoglu Jeremy Brevard- USA Today Sports Advertisement 4. Hedo Turkoglu Jeremy Brevard- USA Today Sports The aging stretch forward’s best days are far behind him, and the Clippers would be wise to find a younger, more efficient option at the backup power forward position. Turkoglu shot a near career-low 44 percent from the field and didn’t do much to space the Clippers' overall offense while on the floor. 3. Jamal Crawford Thomas Shea- USA Today Sports 3. Jamal Crawford Thomas Shea- USA Today Sports Some may say this is blasphemy to even consider releasing Jamal Crawford, one of the best sixth men in the entire NBA, but the fact remains that the Clippers need an infusion of tough defense from their backcourt rotation. Crawford isn’t the defender he once was, and based on his age, he has actually been on a statistical decline with his shooting efficiency, making just under 34 percent both from the field and beyond the arc this past season. 2. Dahntay Jones Gary A. Vasquez- USA Today Sports 2. Dahntay Jones Gary A. Vasquez- USA Today Sports Dahntay Jones was brought in to be a solid backup guard behind either J.J. Reddick or Jamal Crawford, but he didn’t provide enough production for Doc Rivers to instill trust in him in the rotation. The Clippers need efficient shooting from beyond the arc from their guards, and Jones has averaged a career mark of just 33 percent shooting from the three-point line. At age 36, Jones’ production will only continue to decline. 1. C.J. Wilcox Russell Isabella- USA Today Sports 1. C.J. Wilcox Russell Isabella- USA Today Sports Although C.J. Wilcox is just 25 years old and possesses tangible offensive skills that could be developed, the Clippers just don’t have the time to spend working with him. The Clippers are still in win-now mode and need a more experienced backup shooting guard who can come in and create instant offense. Wilcox needs to go to a team that will give him more than 4.8 minutes a game.
