The Golden State Warriors were money all season long in 2014-15 (hence them winning a title). For them to achieve the ultimate goal (winning a title), David Lee had to take on a much smaller role — it worked out in the end. Now, and as expected, the Warriors will be trading away Mr. Lee.

The Boston Celtics are the other team involved and Gerald Wallace just so happens to be the player who will be shipped off to the national champs.

Don’t expect Lee to help out a whole lot on the defensive end, but he could do work in the scoring and rebounding departments. This past season, Lee managed to put up 7.9. points and 5.2 rebounds per game. However, he was a big contributor the season before (18.2 PPG, 9.3 RPG).

Lee is just one year removed — well, around there — from being a very productive player.

Meanwhile, Brad Stevens continues to make the Celtics contenders, and this is certainly a move that will help toward that goal.

Side note: Boston made the playoffs in 2014-15.
