The Los Angeles Clippers only big man on the roster is Blake Griffin. There is a lack of depth of big men for the Clippers, and while most of the marquee players have already been signed there are still quality players who could easily fill those spots. Josh Smith could be a huge signing for the Clippers who would give them the athleticism and versatility behind Griffin.

After big a huge contract two years ago with the Detroit Pistons, he was bought out of his contract and signed with the Houston Rockets and instantly became a key contributor to the team. His efficiency was much better with the Rockets and his production could easily benefit the Clippers. His ability to do everything on the court can provide any team with valuable production off the bench.

Smith should never be used at the wing position because of his erratic shooting and his poor decision making. He still has some athleticism to be an above-average defender when he wants to be and he would be a nice complement to Griffin if the Clippers decide to play small. The amount of versatility from this duo could be devastating for opposing teams trying to stop them both.

The Clippers should take a hard look at Smith and if he is available to them they should not hesitate to sign him. With Doc Rivers, he will put Josh Smith in every position to succeed with the Clippers and could provide the Clippers the frontcourt depth that they are looking for next season.
