For most NBA fans, the Summer Leagues can offer a glimpse of what the rookie players will be bringing to the table at the pro stage. What draws interest to these games is the intensity in which the games are played, with many players focusing on nabbing a roster spot on one of the 30 NBA teams. Here are the five biggest standouts for the Miami Heat out of the Orlando Summer League.

The 6-foot-4 guard out of Davidson has been one of the most efficient shooters for the Miami Heat in the summer league, shooting over 47 percent from the field and 43 percent from three. Although his average point total hasn’t been high at just 8.5 points per game, the increased minutes he will be seeing will eventually bring that number up. It will be interesting to see if Kalinoski can keep up the shooting efficiency.

4. Josh Richardson

The Miami Heat’s 2015 second-round pick has been doing a stellar job on the floor as one of the team's best wing defenders, averaging over 2.3 steals and 1.8 blocks per game. With wing defense being one of the Heat’s biggest needs, Richardson could fill that void at a very cheap price, being on the rookie scale. Richardson has also developed a lethal three-point shot, connecting on over 68 percent from beyond the arc.

3. Willie Reed

Already being called Whiteside 2.0, Willie Reed has been a force in the paint for the Heat so far in the summer league. Reed is currently averaging 12.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks, leading the team in rebounds per game. Reed has been a dynamic post player thus far and would give the Heat’s frontcourt added depth.

2. Tyler Johnson

Based on his experience playing with Miami last year, Tyler Johnson has been a leader on the court for all of the rookies in summer league. Outside of averaging 10.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, Johnson is also shooting over 44 percent from the field, becoming the type of consistent scorer the Heat have desperately needed from their backup shooting guard.

The Miami Heat’s 2015 No. 10 overall pick has been performing exactly like you would have expected, averaging 15.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Already developing into a premium wing stopper, Justise Winslow also leads the team in points and assists. This is the exact type of production the Heat were hoping to see in the early stages.
