In a shocking turn of events, DeAndre Jordan is rethinking about his decision to sign with the Dallas Mavericks. The Los Angeles Clippers are meeting with Jordan today for one last effort to persuade him to come back to L.A.

The relationship between Chris Paul and Jordan has been a bumpy one at best, which was probably one of the main reasons he left in the first place. But since then, Paul has been trying to repair the broken relationship in order to keep one of the best centers in the NBA on his team. Jordan gave his word to Dallas. However, if you have not signed on the dotted line, there is no deal.

No matter how this story ends, Jordan will be enemy No. 1 to either the Mavericks or the Clippers. The Mavericks offered him a larger role on their team, but with two starters coming off of injury and Dirk Nowitzki at 37, maybe he came to realize that being in a bigger role doesn’t mean success with this team.

Jordan spent his first seven years with the Clippers. He was a second-round pick in 2008, even though he was thought as a lottery pick in that draft. Every year he slowly developed into one of the more dominating defensive centers in the league.

This story will leave a bad image of Jordan. He might turn on his decision to sign with Dallas, but he can do whatever he wants to do, regardless of what verbal agreement he made. Whether you love him or hate him, DeAndre Jordan will be welcomed by the Clippers fans. The actions speak louder than words.
