Throughout the early free agency process, DeAndre Jordan was clearly torn between returning to the Los Angeles Clippers or signing with the Dallas Mavericks. Last Friday, Jordan ultimately agreed to a four-year, $80 million deal with the Mavericks. Nearly a week later, reports indicate Jordan is having second thoughts and very well may decide to return to the Clippers after all.

Jordan verbally committed to Dallas on Friday, but free agents are unable to officially sign a contract until July 9. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Clippers are trying to persuade Jordan to change his mind and return to the place he’s called home since 2008. Stein’s sources have said the Clippers are working hard to secure a meeting Wednesday in Houston between Jordan and team president and head coach Doc Rivers.

Shortly after this news broke, Chris Broussard of ESPN reported that Jordan has recently told people close to him that he’s still “torn” and “unsure” about his decision. Clippers players have reportedly been in contact with Jordan ever since he agreed to sign with the Mavericks.
