The Atlanta Hawks have had a good, if unexciting offseason thus far. They honestly don’t have many more moves to make with the roster close to full at this point. With the latest news of adding former Golden State Warriors’ wing man Justin Holiday, this may honestly be the last headline from the Hawks in terms of actual roster moves.

Just what are the Hawks getting in the older Holiday brother? He’s not all that different from another guy that came from the Warriors organization and made his way to the Hawks through the Los Angeles Lakers. He goes by the name of Kent Bazemore, and he quickly became a fan favorite in Atlanta by his sheer determination on the court. Neither are going to be the best players on the floor, but they are going to perform to their best abilities with whatever playing time they are given.

One key difference is Holiday is probably a better shooter now than Bazemore was before he joined the Hawks. This could all matter very little in the end, though. Holiday is going to be in a similar situation here as he was in a Warriors uniform. He simply may struggle to see the floor being behind a ton of wings in the rotation. He may get his chances though depending on how long Thabo Sefolosha takes to recover from his leg injury.

While this move may not blow anyone away, rightfully so. This is a very good depth move for the Hawks, just like when they brought Bazemore in from the Lakers a year ago. Atlanta has a good track record with free agents with this staff in place. It’s not out of the question that they’ve stolen another one here.
