Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban isn’t too pleased with DeAndre Jordan right now, and it is hard to blame Cuban for that sentiment. He also apparently doesn’t accept the public apology from Jordan that was posted on Twitter for a valid reason.

“When is an apology not an apology?” Cuban wrote Saturday via Cyber Dust. “When you didn’t write it yourself. Next.”

That is harsh but probably true. Jordan’s tweets are featured below, and you can decide for yourself whether they were written by the center or his publicist.

In my opinion, this sounds like a PR person rather than a basketball center who left for a 10-day cruise on Thursday, and I wouldn’t begrudge Jordan for avoiding social media the rest of this summer. He is being trashed by quite a few fans of the Mavericks, media personalities and players out there, and it is probably pretty tough to handle even if he is at fault in some ways.

Jordan backed out of his verbal commitment to the Mavs and instead re-signed with the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night, and that capped off one of the strangest free agency dramas this league has ever seen. The contract with the Clippers is a four-year max deal, and Jordan can opt out after three years. That will be a scary moment for fans in Los Angeles, because they have all now seen what Jordan is capable of this summer.

His decision to reverse course left Cuban in a bad spot when it came to finding a starting center, but the Mavs recently traded a future second-round pick to the Milwaukee Bucks for Zaza Pachulia who averaged 8.3 points and 6.8 rebounds last season. Pachulia is obviously not in Jordan’s league when you consider defensive ability though, and the Mavericks will most likely be a lottery team next season as a result. That’s why it remains hard to blame Cuban for not accepting an apology that came just a few days too late.
