Mark Cuban's Proposal For New NBA Playoff System Has Miss Written All Over It

The 2015 NBA Playoffs were filled with an endless amount of fun … especially for the Golden State Warriors. Were you not entertained? Apparently, the playoffs could use a little makeover — well, at least in Mark Cuban‘s eyes.

Expanding from 16 to 20 teams might not seem like that big of a jump (it is only four more teams, after all), but let’s just remember that more than half of the teams (one more than half, to be exact) in this fine league already make the playoffs. While we are at it, let’s just make a bracket that includes all 30 teams. NCAA tournament style.

Cuban is a genius — that goes without saying — but this was a miss on his part.

Here’s an idea:

This year alone, two teams with losing records made the postseason (via the East). The last thing we need is two more below .500 teams making the playoffs. It would be a waste of time at that point. That said, this food-for-thought proposal would certainly help end that whole tanking thing, or would at least help end it.

I’ll leave you with this: The structure of the NBA playoffs is 100 percent fine as is.
