The Rockets made a good run last season, one that could have been even better had they not suffered a plethora of injuries during the season. The summer league is a good place to try to build your organizational depth to help get through those injury-riddled times a little better. They had a number of standouts this time around. Let's take a look at those guys now.

1. Will Cummings

Virtually nothing was expected out of Will going into this league, but he did well for himself. He put up 10 points, three assists and two steals a game, but I very seriously doubt it was enough to get a roster spot here, or possibly anywhere else this season. That's almost certainly good enough to find a D-League spot to at least stay on some NBA radars, though.

2. DJ Kennedy

Once upon a time DJ was pretty highly regarded. He did a lot of the things that put him in that class back in the day in this summer league. He did a little bit of everything out there, putting up 14 points and eight rebounds. He also added in two assists and three steals along the way. His fatal flaw is his inability to shoot or even score efficiently at all. He's a talented guy, but that could hinder is ability to latch on somewhere.

3. Glen Rice Jr

Glen has been around this thing for a while now. He showed it by putting up very strong numbers. Maybe this is the year he nails down a permanent roster spot somewhere. He put up 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. He was a lot more experienced than a lot of the guys out there, and he certainly showed it. At worst he'll continue toiling away in the D-League.

4. Montrezl Harrell

One of the bigger surprises on draft night, Harrell went quite a bit lower than expected for a guy that already plays with an insanely high motor. Adding a chip on his shoulder is a scary proposition. He proved as such in the league by averaging 17 points and eight boards. This is just a guy that will never be outworked by anyone. He will definitely make a living in this league, whether it's with the Rockets or elsewhere.

5. Alan Williams

Here's possibly the biggest surprise of the entire league. Undrafted out of UC Santa Barbara, Williams played like he was up against children. He put up 21 point and 12 rebounds per game, including a 20-20 game, by the way. He also was right at 50% from the field. On top of all that, he hit 73% of his free throws on 30 attempts. I'm not sure there is a player out there that did more for himself in this league than Williams.
