2015 NBA Las Vegas Summer League: 5 Biggest Chicago Bulls Standouts

The Chicago Bulls probably won't be relying on anyone in NBA Summer League too heavily this season with their roster set the way it is. But a few of these guys can definitely get on the radar and even get some playing time in certain spots this season. A few of these guys are already on the roster, so they were in a good spot to grab some attention from the organization. Let's see who took advantage.

There were a few players up for this spot, but Bairstow makes the cut strictly because he is already on the actual roster. How long he stays there remains to be seen, but he had a decent showing in the Summer League with eight points and seven rebounds a game. His future isn't certain, but at worst he'll probably be one of those guys who bounces between the roster and the D-League for a team.

4. Diante Garrett

One of the two lead guards to have a good showing for the Bulls Summer League team, Garrett put up 9.0 points and 4.5 assists per game. There is zero room for a point guard on the Bulls roster, so this will likely be as far as he gets with the organization. Garrett did quite well for himself considering he only played 23 minutes per game. He'll continue to bounce around the D-League unless an injury opens up a spot most likely.

3. Ramon Galloway

Ramon Galloway is in a very similar spot to Diante Garrett. He performed a little better by putting up 11 points, eight assists, and three rebounds per game. He also shot 40 percent from three, so he had a very good showing out there. But once again, he almost certainly won't find a home in Chicago. He's a good candidate to head back overseas where he spent last season if an NBA spot doesn't materialize for him.

2. Doug McDermott

One of the two big guns out there for Chicago, injury problems slowed Doug McDermott down a year ago, but he was back to dominating the Summer League again in Vegas. He put up 19 points and four rebounds per game. The only slightly concerning thing for the Bulls coaching staff is he shot the ball woefully from deep. It is just a five-game sample size, but it's not what you want to see from a guy who is supposed to be a stretch-four.

1. Bobby Portis

The organization has high hopes for first-round pick Bobby Portis, and he has done nothing to quell that notion. He put up 14.5 points and nine rebounds a game. That's to be expected for someone of his talent. The intriguing thing is that he shot 5-of-12 from three. It's a ridiculously small sample size, but for a guy who attempted only 63 threes in two years at Arkansas, it has to be a good sign.
