In what might be the coolest uniform news in the history of the NBA, the Indiana Pacers will honor the 30th anniversary of “Hoosiers” by wearing the film’s “Hickory High School” uniforms for select games during the 2015-2016 NBA season. Other than the Anaheim (Mighty) Ducks in 1993, I can’t think of another instance of a professional sports team wearing the jersey of a fictional team.
No matter the case, not a single person should be complaining because it doesn’t get any better than these Hickory High jerseys.

The Pacers and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios announced the deal on Tuesday morning.
“Our team will be honored to wear the Hickory uniforms because of the attention it will bring to the storied history of Indiana basketball and the success of that movie,” Pacers president of basketball operations Larry Bird said. “‘Hoosiers’ takes us all back to a special place and time.”
Still no word if Gene Hackman will make a special appearance as head coach.
