It's Now or Never for the Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers have had their fair share of struggles in the playoffs the past few years. Now, with their best roster in franchise history, it’s time for the Clippers to shine.

The Clippers have dominated the 2015 NBA offseason. First, they traded for defensive specialist Lance Stephenson, who is looking for a fresh start. Then, the Clippers signed veteran small forward Paul Pierce. With Pierce, the Clippers have another leader, who also brings championship experience.

Things started to go sour for Los Angeles after center DeAndre Jordan agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks. Fortunately for the Clippers, however, Jordan experienced some second thoughts and they quickly pounced on his vulnerability. By bringing back Jordan, the Clippers were able to retain their defensive leader and one of the league’s elite rebounders.

Just when it looked like the Clippers were done, they pulled off another blockbuster move, signing forward Josh Smith. There are flaws in Smith’s game, but he proved that he’s not a lost cause with his performance in last year’s playoffs.

On paper, the Clippers are a top-three team in the Western Conference. Considering the group of players now on the roster and their dynamics, this is bound to bring a media circus. It will be the responsibility of Pierce, Doc RiversChris Paul to keep things from going awry.

It’s quite possible that the Clippers won’t win it all this year. Then what? Looking at the ages of some of the players on the team, the time to win is now. They have done the work in the offseason and now it’s time to make something happen. The Clippers can either rise to the occasion or continue to be the league’s worst best team.
