Retired athletes, especially the stars, love to get into arguments with each other. It almost always has to do with their legacy and where they rank in history. On Monday, two of the NBA’s all-time greats got in a battle on Instagram and as you’d expect, it became ridiculous in a hurry.
Shaquille O’Neal fired the first shot by saying he believes the all-time Los Angeles Lakers starting five of Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Elgin Baylor, Shaq, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would beat the Chicago Bulls all-time starting five of Derrick Rose, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and Horace Grant by 50 points.
We would beat em by fifty “what you think”. Let me know and don’t hold back
Like any proud and confident former athlete would, Pippen, obviously didn’t agree with O’Neal and responded back.

You knew Shaq wouldn’t let it end there, so it was no surprise to see him take yet another shot at Pippen almost immediately after.

Shaq is obviously correct to say Jordan was the man who carried the load for the Bulls dynasty, but he’s definitely not giving Pippen nearly enough credit. It’s absurd to think Steve Kerr and Ron Harper both played a bigger role than one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history.
Shaq concluded the battle, at least for now, by taking yet another shot at Pippen’s secondary role on the Bulls. I have to admit though, this post was funny.
