The NBA season is set to tip off in less than two months, but each team has known its schedule for quite a while now. Some teams have more difficult paths than others. The Western Conference teams obviously have a tougher road to the playoffs, and you'll see many teams from that conference on this list as a result. Check out the five squads who face the toughest journey to postseason play.

The Rockets face the Warriors, Heat and Thunder in the season's first week. That is quite a challenging road. Then they play the Spurs on Christmas while having to worry about the Pelicans the next night. There'll be no turkey for the Rockets this year.

The defending champions won't be given anything easy this season. They play the Pelicans twice in the first week of their season, and that won't be easy considering that Alvin Gentry knows any and all of the team's weaknesses. The Warriors will still make the playoffs without any problems, but it might be a harder path than most folks realize.

Mark Cuban can't be happy right now. His team lost out on DeAndre Jordan, and the Mavericks are facing a tough challenge next season. They probably should've aimed for the lottery, but it is too late to change course. The Mavs have a week overlapping December and January where they play the Bulls, Warriors, Heat, and Pelicans.

The Phoenix Suns are adding a defensive stud this season in Tyson Chandler, but he'd be a much more effective player with better talent around him. They'll struggle to make the playoffs since they play the Pelicans twice, Spurs, Warriors, and Raptors to close out November.

Chris Paul and company are facing a make-or-break year. It feels like the Clippers might have to make a move if things don't work out this time around. They start off November by playing the Suns, Warriors, Rockets, Grizzlies and Mavericks. That's a pretty tough slate.
