Every NBA Team's Most Likely Trade Candidate Before the 2015 Deadline

Every team in the NBA has needs. They want to win, contend or rebuild. A good trade can push the organization further towards its goal. Here is a list of the best trade candidate for each team.

Atlanta Hawks: Tim Hardaway Jr.

Atlanta Hawks: Tim Hardaway Jr.

Tim Hardaway Jr.' s switch from the lowly Knicks to the elite Atlanta Hawks seemed ideal. His 3-point shooting was to be a great asset for Atlanta and he would have been playing for one of the league's top coaches, Mike Budenholzer. It hasn't gone as planned. Hardaway Jr. has not played a single minute of action for the Hawks. The shooting guard is still young he can be a trade asset down the line.

Boston Celtics: James Young

James Young has been a victim of the Boston Celtics' depth. He was inactive for the season opener, and was eventually sent down to the D-League squad. Due to injury he has been brought back to the main team but as of now he has only appeared in one game this season. Young is just 20 years old and another team will surely be willing to take a chance on him. Boston may even be able to get another draft pick.

Brooklyn Nets: Joe Johnson

The Nets are playing like the worst team in the NBA. The fact that Joe Johnson is playing the worst basketball of his career hasn't helped. Johnson is only scoring 10.3 PPG while shooting just over 32 percent from the field. When the time comes, there will be a desperate contending team that will be interested in his services. The Nets didn't get what they wanted out of Joe Johnson on the court. They may as well get some value for him via trade.

Charlotte Hornets: Marvin Williams

Charlotte Hornets: Marvin Williams

Marvin Williams is off to a good start for the Hornets. He's starting at the power forward position and averaging 9.1 RPG and 10.7 PPG. Perhaps most impressively, he's shooting the three at a 42 percent clip. Williams is only 34 percent from behind the arc for his career. His value hasn't been this high in years. If you are the Hornets you need to capitalize on that and move him. Marvin Williams is not part of the future in Charlotte.

Chicago Bulls: Taj Gibson

Up until a few days ago I might have put Joakim Noah in this spot. Now he is rightfully in the starting lineup where he belongs. Taj Gibson's status, however, is still in question. With the emergence of Nikola Mirotic and the eagerness of Bobby Portis, Gibson seems to be the odd man out. His reputation should be able to fetch the Bulls a contributor in return.

Cleveland Cavaliers: Anderson Varejao

After all the money they spent this summer Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert would probably like to get rid of a $9 million salary that rarely sees the court. Varejao has become expendable with Kevin Love, Timofey Mozgov and Tristan Thompson all playing over 20 MPG.

Dallas Mavericks: Deron Williams

Deron Williams is off to a good start with his new team, the Dallas Mavericks. He's on this list because of how things are going to end up. The former Nets player is still playing 30 MPG right now and he is just not that guy anymore. He has already sprained his ankle and his injuries will eventually become worse. Williams' inconsistency will drive Rick Carlisle crazy and push the trustworthy Devin Harris into a starting position.

Denver Nuggets: Kenneth Faried

Denver is moving in a new direction. With new head coach Mike Malone and rookie point guard Emmanuel Mudiay in tow, veterans like Kenneth Faried will be on the move. Faried has previously been linked in trade rumors and with his impressive start ( 13.9 PPG and 10.0 RPG) he will carry value as a trade piece. Other veterans like Wilson Chandler or J.J. Hickson could also be a possibility for the Nuggets.

Detroit Pistons: Brandon Jennings

Jennings was the most likely candidate to be traded before the season and after Detroit's hot start the odd's have increased. With Jennings sidelined with an injury the Pistons have gone 5-2. Detroit has little use for him as Reggie Jackson has emerged as a star, but his expiring contract will make the 26-year-old enticing to multiple teams.

Golden State Warriors: Harrison Barnes

Harrison Barnes surprisingly turned down a four-year,\ million extension in September. With yet another salary cap increase on the way Barnes is reportedly expecting roughly $20 million as a restricted free agent. The Warriors still need enough cap room to max out Steph Curry in 2017 and retain both Andre Iguodala and Andrew Bogut. They will have to decide how much money they want to spend and if Barnes is worth that supreme price tag.

Houston Rockets: K.J. McDaniels

K.J. McDaniels was assigned to the Rockets D-League team today after appearing in just three games. After having an impressive 52 game run with the 76ers last season he was traded to the Rockets. He has never quite found a spot in Houston, appearing in only 13 games since the trade. With the impressive play of Marcus Thornton at the backup shooting guard spot there are no minutes for McDaniels. It's time for a change.

Indiana Pacers: Lavoy Allen

Indiana Pacers: Lavoy Allen

Lavoy Allen is off to a cold start. He doesn't look like he will adapt to the new offense the way Ian Mahinmi has. With the move of Paul George to the power forward position and the signing of the underrated Jordan Hill, Lavoy Allen has become tradable. Indiana could use another small forward and Allen could still fetch them some talent.

Los Angeles Clippers: Jamal Crawford

When trade rumors surround a player long enough eventually he will be traded. Jamal Crawford is one of those players. J.J. Redick is the primary shooting guard and Austin Rivers is getting increased minutes. Crawford can still score, but the Clippers still need a backup point guard. If Crawford can get them one they shouldn't hesitate to make the move.

Los Angeles Lakers: Nick Young

The Lakers can't trade Kobe, so the second biggest chuck on the team has to go. Nick Young is the odd man out. Every time he shoots the ball it takes a potential shot away from Clarkson or Russell. Moving Young opens up almost 20 MPG.

Memphis Grizzlies: Jeff Green

Since Memphis traded for Jeff Green he has been a completely different player. His scoring and shooting numbers have dipped significantly. Green just has not been a good fit with the Grizzlies. They are in desperate need of a lights out three-point shooter and if Green can get that for them in a trade they should pull the trigger.

Miami Heat: Josh McRoberts

'McBob' has been a monumental disappointment since signing a four-year deal with the Heat in the summer of 2014. Last season he was riddled with injuries and was only able to play in 17 games. Through eight games this season McRoberts has averaged just 2.4 PPG in 14.3 MPG. It's time for Miami to move on.

Milwaukee Bucks: O.J. Mayo

O.J. Mayo's expiring contract with just $8 million left on it will be easy to move. He hasn't played yet this year and Milwaukee is almost certainly not going to re-sign him for the salary he will command in the new free agency market. They should try and get some value for Mayo before it's too late.

Minnesota Timberwolves: Nikola Pekovic

Nikola Pekovic would be vital to the Timberwolves if they didn't have Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgui Dieng. He'd be extremely vital if he wasn't carrying around a $12 million a year salary for the next three seasons. Pekovic is expendable for Minnesota and they need to move him. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.

New Orleans Pelicans: Ryan Anderson

If the wheels fall off completely for the Pelicans they should look to move Ryan Anderson. He has an expiring contract and will command an overpay in the offseason. His ability as a stretch-four will have plenty of teams interested in his services.

New York Knicks: Carmelo Anthony

After the early play of Jose Calderon it might be a good move to put him in this spot. I don't think the veteran point guard is going anywhere. I'm not sure that Carmelo Anthony will be moved either. He is the most likely player to be traded though. If the season goes in the tank, which is possible, then the franchise will have a huge decision to make. Anthony has been very inconsistent this season. Should they gamble on that for their future?

Oklahoma City Thunder: Dion Waiters

I don't think Oklahoma City will trade anyone. Their roster is perfect for a championship run. However if they do trade someone it will be Waiters. Waiters has had a good shooting start but if his notoriously selfish play rears its ugly head, he could become a serious trade candidate.

Orlando Magic: Channing Frye

Channing Frye was bad last season in the first year of a four-year, $32 million deal. He is off to another poor start and has only played in three games for new head coach Scott Skiles. With Tobias Harris playing an impressive stretch-four to and the continuing improvement of Aaron Gordon, Orlando doesn't have a huge need for Frye.

The 76ers could trade anyone except Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel. Jerami Grant has been off to a good enough start to warrant some value in return. By value of course, I mean draft picks. It is the Sixers after all.

Phoenix is off to a disappointing 3-4 start and eventually they will have to look towards the future. T.J. Warren is the future at the small forward position for the Suns. P.J. Tucker's lockdown defensive talents can be valuable to many teams.

Portland Trail Blazers: Gerald Henderson

Gerald Henderson has been the victim of injury. He hasn't played at all this season due to hip surgery. After the incredible play of C.J. McCollum to start the season Henderson will undoubtedly come off of the bench. If Allen Crabbe continues to improve, look for Henderson to be moved.

Sacramento Kings: Rajon Rondo

Sacramento Kings: Rajon Rondo

There's no way Vlade Divac wants to start his first full season as a general manager by trading DeMarcus Cousins. It's not happening. Rajon Rondo, on the other hand, is a different story. The Mavericks had no problems literally sending him home during the playoffs. There is no reason to believe that Rondo will change his behavior. A nightmare could be on the horizon for Rondo and the Kings. Thankfully it's just a one-year deal.

San Antonio Spurs: Kyle Anderson

San Antonio Spurs: Kyle Anderson

Much like Oklahoma City, the Spurs have a perfect roster for a championship run. If they are going to make a move, Kyle Anderson may seem like a foolish one on the surface. He is still young and can develop. I think he is the least essential of the Spurs' bench players. He is just 22-years-old and his youth plus his size and unique skill set will intrigue teams.

Toronto Raptors: Patrick Patterson

Patrick Patterson was supposed to be the starting power forward for the Raptors this season. Instead he lost that spot to newcomer Luis Scola before the season even started. He is averaging only 20 MPG and is ice cold from the field.

Utah Jazz: Alec Burks

Alec Burks has been replaced in the starting lineup by Rodney Hood. So far it has gone well as Burks has performed admirably in his new role. With that said, the 4-3 Utah Jazz could get something of value in return right now for Burks. Perhaps even a point guard. Joe Ingles can shift over to backup shooting guard and play both wing positions. Utah should not miss a beat.

Washington Wizards: Ramon Sessions

Washington likely won't trade anyone either, but they should trade Ramon Sessions. He's just an inefficient player. Last season he had a Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 11.1 and shot 37 percent from the field. Sessions is going to get in the way of a Wizards playoff run. They need to cut bait with him.
