Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez and New York Knicks center Robin Lopez wisely don’t live together, even though they work in such close proximity that it wouldn’t be too hard logistically. The reason for this is quite surprising. Their cats apparently don’t get along, and Robin won’t stand for the sneaky antics of Brook’s pet. Robin moved from Portland to New York over the offseason, and there was apparently some discussion of moving in together that didn’t materialize due to a particular feline in question. “Brook’s cat is very two-faced,” Robin told The New York Post. “Everybody loves Brook’s cat. To everybody’s face, he’s such a nice cat. And it may sound like I’m joking, but I am dead serious. He acts like a lazy, sweet cat when everybody is looking. But when their heads turn, he’ll try to chase after [my cat] Edward. The second I lay eyes on him, he’ll act like, ‘I’m a cherub. I’m innocent.’ I’m not buying it.” Robin’s cat is named Edward Zephyr and Brook’s is called Poupin, and the animals each have their own Instagram account. The brothers, on the other hand, are working together a lot more often now that they live in the same area, and there are even rumors that a potential video game could be in the mix between them. The Knicks as a team are having a much better season than the Nets, but Brook is having a resurgent year after hearing whispers that his career might be coming to a close after all of his injury issues. It would be cool to see these two on the same roster again in the future, although when they face off, it is pretty bizarre as well. Also, if they were on the same team, one of them would likely be backing up the other, because in the modern NBA, it is rare to see two bigs on the court during crunch time. The Lopez twins next play each other on Jan. 13 in Brooklyn. And let’s hope their felines don’t attend the game, because then there could be a real cat fight. Everyone, especially Skip Bayless, wants to talk about LeBron James' lack of clutch gene in the past, but he's begun to shed it thanks to plays like this one. Down by two with just over 20 seconds left in the game, James made a beeline for the basket and posterized Devin Harris.
The San Antonio Spurs have been one of the two best teams in basketball so far, and their midseason grade reflects that.
Every time LeBron James gets out in the open for a breakaway dunk, it makes me wish that we could've seen him just once in the dunk contest. There's nothing real spectacular about this particular dunk, but the sheer ferocity that James brings with him makes it a sight to behold.
Gregg Popovich is a masterful NBA mind, but even he will tap into his own brilliance on back-to-back nights. If it continues to work this well, why the heck not?
Lord knows I work hard at this game. Copying @stephencurry30 moves from his most recent video that went viral. I’m 11 and I work on my craft everyday. Fifth-grader Noah (Baby Birdman) Cutler is better than you at basketball. He's also an expert at imitating Stephen Curry. Follow his career on Instagram @babybirdman3.
Joakim Noah's role with the Chicago Bulls has diminished by so much that they would be better off trading him away.
David Lee came into this season expecting to rebound from a down year, but he has performed even worse in his new home with the Boston Celtics.
Fournier has been the Orlando Magic's most pleasant surprise thus far in the 2015-16 NBA season.
