When you are the second longest tenured coach in the NBA, players tend to get tired of hearing your voice -- unless your name is Gregg Popovich. Unfortunately for Miami Heat fans, Erik Spoelstra is no Pop when it comes to name or the ability to manage a stacked roster without caring about making everyone happy.

Miami may be at a stage where new blood is what they need, but here are five reasons why Spoelstra continues to avoid the hot seat.

Too early may seem like an overstatement when you remember Miami's 37-45 debacle from the 2014-15 season, but everyone in the organization received a pass after LeBron James skipped town. So a 13-9 start would be too soon to pull the plug on a coach in an Eastern Conference with 10 teams over .500.

We all praised Pat Riley and the Heat front office for their team building skills, but in retrospect Miami ended up with a roster full of big men in a league that's shrinking. Not only are they too slow to push tempo, but they have absolutely no consistent three-point threats to keep a defense honest.

Laziness and lack of effort can be traced back to tuning a coach out. An average of 14 turnovers per game for a team that is one spot above last place in scoring has to be blamed on the men taking the court.

Four straight NBA Finals appearances, two championships, a 27-game win streak, the highest win percentage of any Miami Heat coach and the taker of two pre-James teams to the playoffs during a rebuild sound like enough to earn Spoelstra more than a few passes.

Plain and simple, Spoelstra was Riley’s hand picked replacement, so giving him a pink slip would require mister loyalty to cut all of his heartstrings.
