The Miami Heat should not be completely disappointed by their 18-13 record to start the season. But plenty of their play has been considered uninspired and hampered by the team’s flaws. But have no fear, as here are five things that the Heat can do to improve in 2016.

5. Find Consistency

The entire year and a half since LeBron James bolted has been a quest to find the right roster mix that would bring consistency. So far it has turned into nothing but stressful comeback attempts and a lot of bad losses.

Instead of mixing and matching, it is time for coach Erik Spoelstra to settle on a shorter, tighter bench rotation, because the random substitutions and weird playing time patterns do nothing but foster more inconsistency.

3. Find Three-Point Shooting

Miami's top three-point shooter, Tyler Johnson, only takes two a night and has missed nine games. However, their deadliest player from behind that arc is their 6-foot-11 power forward Chris Bosh. Unfortunately, the entire team ranks at the bottom of the barrel at 24th in the league (33 percent).

According to all of the reports and statistical breakdowns, the Miami Heat are better on the defensive end without the league’s leader in blocked shots on the court. So the question becomes, do you move Hassan Whiteside for a shooter while his stock is high, or do you risk his offseason asking price putting Miami's future free agency plans in jeopardy?

Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade have to keep their hot start going. Over the last 10 games, Bosh has averaged 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists while Wade has averaged 19 points, four rebounds, five assists this season and is the team's leading scorer. He has even played 31 of 32 games, including three back-to-back sets.
