Washington Wizards Must Trade Kris Humphries Before 2015-16 Trade Deadline

Kris Humphries has basically become useless to the Washington Wizards, as Randy Wittman has finally realized he is not a stretch-four. After coming to his senses, Wittman has finally noticed what the rest of the NBA has known all along. Humphries is a center, and possibly a power forward at best.

After next season, Humphries will be a free agent, and he will likely leave Washington unless he improves his shot even more than he did this past offseason or gets more athletic so he can actually be a quality forward. With the personnel DC has, the former Minnesota forward just does not fit in anywhere.

Even if the Wizards are only able to receive a second-rounder in the draft, at least this is somebody they could develop beyond next season rather than continue to invest time into a player who will not be with the franchise for much longer. With such a limited skill set, Humphries must be swapped for somebody who gives more value to the future.

If necessary, the Wizards could add another player into the trade if they want to improve their chances with small-ball. By including a player such as Alan Anderson, Gary Neal or Ramon Sessions, Washington could try to trade with the Orlando Magic for Channing Frye. This may be out of reach, but something like this deal that would bring a real stretch-four to the nation’s capital would be a huge improvement to the current roster.

For the Wizards to get better, they must get rid of some dead weight by trading Humphries and flipping him for whatever they can get. There is no room or future for him in DC, making him an easy option for Washington to trade away.
