In 2014-15, the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference was the Brooklyn Nets and they finished with a record of 38-44. As of now, the Bulls are seeded eighth at 30-27. Despite the Cavs being clear favorites, there's plenty of depth from top to bottom.

Tony Snell is last on the team in O-rating, averaging just 5.5 points on 37.7 percent shooting, with a brutal PER of 6.6. Doug McDermott has definitely been better, scoring 9.0 points, but his inconsistency and defense have hurt the Bulls.

When Fred Hoiberg took this job the buzz surrounding him was his up-tempo offense. So far we haven't seen it garner much success. The Bulls are 13th in pace — up from 23rd last season — but just 27th in fastbreak points and 22nd in offensive rating.

Joakim Noah looked terrible before going down for the season, but his loss still meant something. The injuries to Jimmy Butler and Nikola Mirotic are worse. Two of the team's best players are out for at least two more very important weeks.
