Garnett has not played since Jan. 23 due to lingering right knee issue, and the possibility he won't play again this season has finally been acknowledged by Timberwolves head coach Sam Mitchell. Garnett technically has one more season left on his contract, but it's hard to envision him suiting up again.

3. Nikola Pekovic

Pekovic has only played 12 games this season, as he worked his way back from ankle surgery and then had a recurrence of foot and ankle issues. His contract is a significant obstacle to doing anything with him, with two years and $23.7 million left, but at this point all options should be on the table and he may just choose to retire.

Payne has struggled to find a consistent place in the Timberwolves' rotation, and ESPN's Chris Broussard reported the team was looking to trade him at the deadline. In any case, the Michigan State product should find a better opportunity elsewhere next season.

At some point, there has to be something to the trade rumors surrounding Rubio. Moving him this summer is a real possibility, if the right offer comes and another point guard can be acquired.
