Giannis Antetokounmpo Will Be An All-Star In 2017

By George Middleton

The Milwaukee Bucks have a bright future with players like Khris Middleton, Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The trio has played terrific basketball, particularly over last month. Middleton is having a career season and Parker has picked things up over the last 10 games, but the player with the most potential on the Bucks is certainly Antetokounmpo.

He can do nearly everything: defend, rebound, pass or attack the basket. The biggest problem with the 6-foot-11 forward is his range. He is shooting 22 percent from three-point range, although he only attempts one per game. There aren’t really any “red flags” in his game besides long-range shooting.

On the season, he is averaging 16.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists. There aren’t many players who average more than a steal and a block in a game as well. In fact, there are only 13 players in the league who are doing so this season.

Over the last few weeks, the Bucks have given the “Greek Freak” a new role. He has played point-forward throughout the game in many stretches, and as a result, his play has elevated. In the last 10 games, he is averaging 19.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, 7.1 assists and two blocks. His future is so bright that even superstar Kevin Durant told SLAMonline that Antetokounmpo will be special if he knocks down that jump shot.

One thing that seems certain is Antetokounmpo will be an All-Star in 2017. Bucks fans can only hope that his play turns them into a contender.
