Houston Rockets CEO Responds To Charles Barkley's Criticism With Best Comeback Of All Time

Charles Barkley has never been one to mince words. He’s become known for his ridiculous statements and it’s part of what makes the ‘Inside The NBA‘ crew one of the most entertaining on television.

Recently, Barkley has directed his comments at the Houston Rockets and their poor start to the playoffs. During a segment on the night of the Rockets’ 115-106 loss in Game 2 of their Western Conference playoff series against the Golden State Warriors, TNT put up an infographic that showed the remaining games of the series and the words “not necessary” next to Games 5-7. Barkley took it a step further and crossed out those games.

At halftime of Game 3 on Thursday night, the Rockets led the Warriors 55-48 as they dominated for most of the first half. Host Ernie Johnson immediately asked Barkley for his thoughts on the first half in the first segment of the halftime show and Barkley took more shots at the Rockets before guaranteeing that they would lose the game.

Following the Rockets’ 97-96 win, CEO Tad Brown got wind of Barkley’s comments and fired back like a boss.

Barkley spent the last four seasons of his career with the Rockets and averaged 16.5 points per game, down from his career average of 22.1. He struggled to fit in with Hakeem Olajuwon and Scottie Pippen which led to two first-round exits, one year missing the playoffs and the other getting knocked out in the Western Conference Finals in his four seasons with the Rockets.
