Sacramento Kings Fans Take Team Up On Offer To Pay For Tattoos Of New Logo

By Timothy Downs

The Sacramento Kings haven’t had the best luck over the last 10 years. The Kings haven’t made the playoffs since 2006, mainly due to the fact that it has been nearly impossible for them to sign big-name free agents playing in an overlooked market, and in an outdated arena.

However, the Kings are moving into a new, state-of-the-art building in November, and have rebranded the franchise with new logos to celebrate the next chapter of the organization’s existence.

Sacramento went with an old-school look, but with new-school flavor.

Shortly after the new logos were released, the Kings let the masses know that if anyone was interested in getting a tattoo of them, the team would pay for it. Naturally, Kings fans (and probably some tattoo aficionados just looking for some free ink, dude) took them up on the offer.

Both the rebrand and this tattoo marketing campaign have been slam dunks. Thus, it’s fair to assume we’ll be pleasantly surprised when Sacramento’s new uniforms are released.

The Kings’ roster, however, still needs plenty of work. But that’s a story for another day.
