Thursday morning brought some surprising news on the NBA coaching carousel, as Scott Skiles resigned after just one season as head coach of the Orlando Magic. Orlando is now added to the list of available jobs, and here are five candidates to replace Skiles.
5. Mike Woodson

Woodson interviewed prior to Skiles' hiring a year ago, and he was reportedly among the candidates in Sacramento prior to Dave Joerger's hiring. With 680 games as a head coach and a resume as an assistant, Woodson becomes a possibility in Orlando.
4. Patrick Ewing

Ewing spent the final season of his playing career with the Magic, and he was also an assistant coach in Orlando from 2007-12. The ties seem clear, so Ewing should at least get an interview.
3. David Blatt

Blatt's success with the Cleveland Cavaliers makes it certain he'll resurface as an NBA head coach. Lessons learned from his time in Cleveland should serve him well, and Orlando is in position to take advantage by giving Blatt an opportunity.
2. Mark Jackson

Jackson's name has surfaced for a few job openings this year, and he also interviewed with Orlando prior to Skiles being hired last year. If Jackson wants to get back into coaching, the Magic should be in the mix now.
1. Mike D'Antoni

D'Antoni is a candidate in Houston and probably Indiana as well. His fast-paced offense, which was ahead of its time, looks like a great fit for the backcourt duo of Victor Oladipo and Elfrid Payton. Orlando should have serious interest.
