LeBron James Exhibits Pure Jealousy Over Stephen Curry Being Named Unanimous MVP

In case you missed it, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was named as the first-ever unanimous MVP on Tuesday. It was the second straight MVP award for Curry as he led his team to an NBA record 73 wins, knocked down an NBA record 402 three-pointers and averaged 30.1 points, 6.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game despite sitting out the fourth quarter in 17 games.

Despite all of those accomplishments, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James isn’t convinced that Curry deserved to be the 2015-16 MVP because the word valuable is open to interpretation.

“I think sometimes the word ‘valuable’ or best player of the year, you can have different results,” James said. “Look at Steph’s numbers. He averaged 30, he led the league in steals, he was 90-50-40 (shooting percentages from the free-throw line, field and 3-pointers), and they won 73 (games). So, I don’t, do you have any debate over that, really, when it comes to that award? But when you talk about most ‘valuable’ then you can have a different conversation, so, take nothing away from him, he’s definitely deserving of that award, for sure.”

I used to be one of the biggest LeBron supporters around especially after he caught so much flack for how he left Cleveland. He was a young kid who was desperate to win a title and he got some bad advice that he didn’t know any better than to listen to. But as the years have gone on, LeBron has turned into one the biggest whiners in the NBA.

Absolutely LeBron is the most important player on the Cavaliers, but there’s no way he’s more valuable to his team than Curry. If you subtract LeBron from the Cavaliers’ roster, they are still a playoff team, and quite possibly still the best team in the Eastern Conference with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love leading the way.

If you take Curry away from the Warriors, they would drop to at least the third-best team in the Western Conference behind San Antonio and Oklahoma City. They may also fall behind a healthy Los Angeles Clippers team. Instead, Curry helped lead the Warriors to 73 wins and has them as the favorites to win a second-straight NBA title.

So yea, LeBron, even if you want to use the term of “valuable,” Curry still deserved the MVP over you. Now stop crying about it and go win a championship. That’s the best way to prove critics are all wrong.
