The 2016 NBA Finals have been a bit of a snoozefest thus far, as the Golden State Warriors have played circles around the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, the series now shifts to Cleveland for Game 3, and the Cavaliers haven’t lost a home game this postseason. With that in mind, here’s a look at five bold predictions for Game 3.
5. LeBron James Scores 30 Points
Getty ImagesIn order for the Cavaliers to mount a comeback and win this series, LeBron James needs to put forth the best effort of his career. While I'm not certain he can do so in all remaining games, I do expect a monster performance in Game 3.
4. Stephen Curry Held In Check By Cleveland
Getty ImagesThe Warriors haven't needed Stephen Curry do to a plethora of scoring thus far to win, but they can't expect that trend to continue on the road. Curry will be held under 20 points once again, but he won't be picked up by his teammates like in Game 1.
3. Tristan Thompson Dominates Paint, Tallies Double-Double
Getty ImagesGolden State loves to play small ball, and often concedes the paint. Cleveland will finally exploit one of the Warriors' few weaknesses by utilizing Tristan Thompson early and often.
2. Kyrie Irving Electrifies
Getty ImagesKyrie Irving was nowhere to be found in Game 2, but is clearly too good to pull another vanishing act in Game 3. Keeping Stephen Curry flabbergasted on defense will play a part in holding him in check on offense. Expect Irving to electrify.
1. Cleveland Wins By 10
Getty ImagesOklahoma City proved Golden State is far from invincible in the Western Conference Finals. Thus, counting the Cavaliers out of the series before they have even played a home game is a painfully shortsighted mistake being made by many.
