Cleveland Cavaliers In Good Position To Make NBA History

Never before has a team come back from a 3-to-1 series deficit in the NBA Finals. At the end of Game 5, the Cleveland Cavaliers gave their fans hope that their team can indeed be the first ever to do it.

Let’s face it, everyone thought that the Golden State Warriors were going to wrap up the championship at home. Even without Draymond Green, the Warriors still had Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and enough talent to send the Cavs home for the summer.

This was the way Game 5 was shaping up in the first half, but when the teams came out of the locker room after a tied game at halftime, it was the Cavs who came out with more fire and intensity. Sure, their play was born out of desperation, but could you blame them?

Their season was on the line. LeBron James’ legacy was on the line. Everything was on the line in Game 5 for Cleveland, and their two biggest stars, James and Kyrie Irving, responded with two of the best individual performances we have ever seen in the Finals.

It was those performances, and Cleveland’s determination to not end their season in humiliation, which fuels the speculation that the Cavs can indeed become the first team in history to rally back from a 3-to-1 deficit in the Finals and win it all.

The Warriors didn’t give their fans much optimism that they can overcome this crushing loss and end the series in Cleveland. The Cavs are back on a high now, and the Warriors need to be cautious not to wind up on the wrong side of history.
