The Los Angeles Lakers still have a very young team and are likely a few years away from contending unless they are able to sign some big-time free agents in the next couple of years. They need to focus on surrounding their young talent with true professionals and veterans who have big-game experience. If they are unable to find the right stars, then they should look to teams trying to clear cap space to find mentors who will pay off in the long run.

Brewer would give the team an athletic wing who can defend and get out on the break. Upgrading the team’s defense needs to be a big priority this offseason.
4. Tony Allen

Allen is getting older, but he is still a very good defender who would add toughness to this team. He plays hard and does the little things, and could teach the young guards a thing or two about desire.
3. Tyson Chandler

Chandler will be overpaid for the next three years, but his championship experience and leadership would be huge for the Lakers. Having a strong voice like Chandler would help the coaching staff, and he is still good enough to anchor a defense.
2. Chris Bosh

A big contract and health concerns make Bosh a gamble, but it would probably not take much as the Heat need to shed salary. A good defender who can also score anywhere on the court, his contract ends when Russell and Nance Jr. are up for extensions.

It is unlikely that the Warriors would trade Iguodala even to clear cap space. However, he would be a great fit for the Lakers, as they have very little defensive talent on the roster. Iguodala is versatile, tough and knows how to win.
