Draymond Green Says Knicks Owner James Dolan Exhibited 'Slave Master Mentality' Toward Charles Oakley

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green took exception to the way New York Knicks owner James Dolan handled the highly-publicized incident between he and Charles Oakley at Madison Square Garden last week.

Green clearly was interested in pulling punches when commenting on the altercation.

“You doing it for me, it’s all good,” Green said on his “Dray Day” podcast on Uninterrupted. “You doing it against me — you speaking out against my organization — it’s not good anymore? That’s a slave mentality. A slave master mentality. That’s ridiculous.

“It was all fine and dandy when he was laying people out, taking fines and all this stuff for your organization. But now, all of a sudden, when he says something that he feels, it’s a problem.”

Dolan offered Oakley an apology earlier in the week after they both met with NBA commissioner Adam Silver and Michael Jordan.

Oakley hasn’t accepted despite no longer being banned from the world’s most famous arena. Dolan still has a long way to go before he gains back the respect he lost from many in NBA circles.
