NBA Trade Rumors: Pelicans Reportedly In Talks To Acquire DeMarcus Cousins From Kings

By Timothy Downs

With the NBA trade deadline now just days away, rumors are swirling about a few of the league’s biggest stars.

One possible trade in particular that is gaining a plethora of steam involves the New Orleans Pelicans acquiring DeMarcus Cousins from the Sacramento Kings.

This rumor seems to have some merit according to Yahoo‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, who also mentioned it on Twitter.

Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders reported the Kings would receive rookie guard Buddy Hield and several first-round draft picks.

Cousins and Hield were ironically involved in an exchange last week in which Hield inexplicably struck Cousins in the balls and was ejected from the game.

Pairing Cousins and Anthony Davis, both former Kentucky Wildcats, would give New Orleans the closest thing the NBA has seen to the “Twin Towers” of Tim Duncan and David Robertson on the San Antonio Spurs.

Naturally, this rumor has set Twitter abuzz.

Stay tuned, folks…
