LeBron James Warns LaVar Ball to 'Keep My Kids' Names Out of Your Mouth'

LaVar Ball has taken his 15 minutes of fame and run with it since becoming a public figure. His outlandish statements have caught the ire of numerous people and taken the spotlight off of his basketball playing sons.

It seems that Ball’s big mouth has angered the wrong person this time around as LeBron James had some pointed comments for LaVar on Tuesday.

“Keep my kids’ name out of your mouth, keep my family out of your mouth,” James told ESPN.

“This is dad to dad. It’s a problem now.”

In an appearance on “In the Zone with Chris Broussard,” Ball said that he believes his boys are set up for better basketball careers than LeBron’s because of the pressure that will be placed on James two sons LeBron Jr. and Bryce Maximus.

“The monsters in the NBA, their dads wasn’t that good,” Ball said. “They were OK, they was players, but the fact that the old [Dell] Curry wasn’t no All-Star, he wasn’t cold. He could shoot the ball, though. Kobe Bryant, his dad wasn’t all that, that’s why he’s such a monster.

“You got LeBron, it’s going to be hard for his kids because they are going to look at them like, ‘You got to be just like your dad.’ And after a while, that pressure starts sitting on you like, ‘Why do I got to be just like him? What can’t I just be me?’ And then they are going to be like, ‘Aw, you’re soft, you’re not that good.’ Because the expectation is very, very high.”

It’ll be interesting to see how LaVar Ball’s comments will be received when his son Lonzo gets drafted into the NBA next season. If he’s already angering the top superstar in the league, there’s no telling what will happen down the road.
