Cleveland Cavaliers Blow 26-Point Lead In 4th Quarter — Shockingly Lose To Atlanta Hawks In OT

The way the Cleveland Cavaliers have looked of late, repeating as NBA champions should be the last thing on their minds.

Put simply, making it out of the Eastern Conference is unlikely if the Cavs continue playing lackluster basketball.

On Sunday, Cleveland somehow managed to blow a 26-point lead in the fourth quarter and ultimately lost in overtime to the Atlanta Hawks by the score of 126-125.

In fairness to the Cavs, the jump ball at the end of regulation should never have been called, as both Kent Bazemore and Paul Millsap stepped out of bounds during the play.

With that said, I don’t care if you’re playing the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, you simply can’t blow a 26-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Especially not to a Hawks team that only has two reliable scorers (Millsap and Dennis Schroder).

Both the Cavs and the Boston Celtics have two games remaining to decide which team will be the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Cleveland will face LeBron’s old team, the Miami Heat, in Miami on Monday and then finish the regular season at home against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Celtics have a much easier path. Boston hosts the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks on Monday and Wednesday respectively.
