In the midst of their worst season since the turn of the century, the Dallas Mavericks are desperate for any way to deflect attention from their on-court struggles to a side attraction.
Enter: Tony Romo.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback turned CBS commentator will take part in the Mavs’ layup line on Tuesday night, and he was brushing up on his skills with tight end Rico Gathers.
Not the best alley-oop, but Romo’s not used to the round ball.
Romo will be wearing a No. 9 Mavs jersey for the shootaround and layup line before tonight’s game, and he will then be seated on the bench for all 48 minutes.
Presumably, at least.
