On Saturday, Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas was dealt a devastating blow when he learned his younger sister was killed in a one-car crash in Washington state.

Until late Sunday afternoon, it was unclear whether or not Thomas would suit up for the Celtics’ Game 1 showdown with the Chicago Bulls, as he was understandably laden with tremendous grief and seen crying prior to the game.

NBA On TNT analyst and Hall of Famer Charles Barkley said Thomas’ public display of emotion made him “uncomfortable.”
Barkley on Isaiah Thomas:
"I'm uncomfortable with him crying on the sidelines like that… it's a bad look." 😒pic.twitter.com/duj61ZXGdE

I’m not feeling comfortable with him sitting on the sideline crying like that. That makes me uncomfortable because that tells me he’s not in shape to play. I don’t know how this night is going to turn out. But to be sitting on the sideline a few minutes before the game, crying, that makes me uncomfortable for him. That’s just not a good look, in my personal opinion.
Barkley might not have meant to come off as insensitive to Thomas’ loss, but it seemed to many like he did as his words can be interpreted in two completely different ways depending on who you ask.
