Utah Jazz Steal Game 1 from Los Angeles Clippers on Patented Joe Johnson Isolation Bucket

By Anthony Blake

Joe Johnson may be getting up there in age, but that doesn’t mean the now Utah Jazz veteran can’t still do what made him one of the NBA‘s best throughout his career – isolate and drive to the rack.

Apparently the Los Angeles Clippers forgot about Johnson’s strong suit, as his clutch drive to the bucket in the closing seconds of Game 1 helped the Jazz take a 1-0 series lead on the road.

JJ FTW!! 💯💯💯

They always say an NBA playoff series doesn’t truly begin until the home team loses a game, so it seems this one actually got started in Game 1.

This was the first postseason victory for the Jazz in seven years, so it lifted quite a weight off the shoulders of the franchise as well.

And if this trend continues, it could be the last we see of Doc Rivers, Chris Paul, and Blake Griffin together with the Clippers.
