Jimmy Butler Helps Chicago Bulls Steal Home-Court Advantage in Game 1 Win over Boston Celtics

Even on a day where Dwyane Wade showed his age, the Chicago Bulls rode their rising star Jimmy Butler to an upset overtime win in Game 1 to snatch home-court advantage away from the Boston Celtics.

Though many have pointed to the Celtics as a team that could challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers to come out of the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs this year, they now face a fight just to get out of the first round.

An emotional day for Celtics superstar Isaiah Thomas may be to blame for Boston’s flat effort in Game 1, but the Bulls clearly summoned some playoff intensity that could continue to pay dividends throughout the series.

Maybe the biggest threat to Cleveland in the East is actually Chicago.
