Wizards' John Wall Drains Game-Winning Trey To Force Game 7 Against Celtics

By Timothy Downs

The Boston Celtics had the Washington Wizards right where they wanted them on Friday night as they took a two-point lead into the final seconds of Game 6 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series.

Unfortunately for Celtics fans, players and front-office folk alike, Washington’s John Wall stepped up when the Wizards needed him the most and buried a clutch trey to take a one-point lead with just four seconds remaining.

The Celtics had enough time to sink a buzzer-beater, but settled for a wild shot from Isaiah Thomas that never truly had a chance.

The Celtics ticked the Wizards off by wearing all black to symbolize a funeral prior to Game 6, and Wall addressed the blatant troll move by Boston after the game.

These two teams will duke it out for the right to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in Boston on Monday night in what should be an overwhelmingly exciting Game 7 at TD Garden.
